Jocelyn Bucklew

Jocelyn Joy Bucklew, age 84, passed away Thursday, April 4, 2019, at her home surrounded by her loving family.  Joy was born in Cassville,  on March 26, 1935, a daughter of the late Richard and Louise Baldwin McConnaughey.
Joy graduated from Morgantown High School in 1953, and went on to work for Morgantown Florist, Loving Furniture Company, Richter Volkswagen Dealership, and the Monongalia County Health Department, until she retired.  She also spent many years working in the family business, Buck’s Place.  Joy enjoyed going to the family cabin in Petersburg, reading, playing canasta with her sisters, and spending time with her family.  She was a member of the Sabraton Baptist Church.
Joy is survived by her daughters, Pamela Berryman and husband Robert, of Westover, Dixie Bucklew, of Granville;  son, Robert “Bobby” Bucklew, Jr., of Morgantown; sisters, Patricia Frankenberry and Dian Bucklew; sisters-in-law, Betty Jean McConnaughey, Joann McConnaughey, and Lila Travinski; granddaughters, Jocelyn Bucklew and husband Joshua Shuttlesworth, Lauren Burns and husband Ray Burns, Brieonna Christopher Bucklew, and Allyson Berryman; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Joy was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Robert Ray “Buck” Bucklew, Sr., who passed away July 3, 2018; sister, Dixie Molla; and brothers, Donald McConnaughey, Russell McConnaughey, Richard McConnaughey, and Lewis McConnaughey.
The family would like to specially thank her nieces, Jill Bucklew Burgess and Peggy Miker, Amedisys Hospice, and all the private caregivers.
Friends may gather at McCulla Funeral Home from 2 – 4 p.m. and 6 – 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 7,  and from 11 a.m. on Monday, until the 1 p.m. funeral service with Pastor Scott Whetzel officiating.  Burial will follow at Beverly Hills Cemetery.
