MORGANTOWN — University couldn’t muster enough offense Monday, losing to John Marshall 3-1.
The Hawks (1-3) mustered only five hits in the game. Casey Herring and Lindsey Vorndran led the way, though, collecting four of UHS’ five hits. Layne Assif had the team’s only extra base hit in the game with a double.
Autumn Stemple had a decent showing on the mound for the Hawks. She finished the game with 7 innings pitched, 12 strikeouts and allowed just two earned runs on seven hits.
