Bruceton park and ride to get lights

BRUCETON MILLS — The park and ride spot off Interstate 68 at Bruceton Mills is going to get brighter.
A State Division of Highways (DOH) spokesman said that three lights, support poles and a control station/power source are planned for the park and ride. It is located at the end of the I-68 eastbound off ramp of Bruceton Mills Exit 23.
According to District 4 Construction Engineer Jason W. Nelson, it will cost about $76,000 for the project, which will come from normal program funding.
The Bruceton lighting was added to an existing lighting project, “that renovated lighting, lighting supports, roadway weather info systems and message boards,” between the I-68 connection with Interstate 79 to the Maryland line, the engineer said.
The overall contract cost was $3,323,151 and included “119 light assemblies, 77 wiring junction boxes, seven sign lighting assemblies, 22 light supports, two digital message boards,  various roadway weather condition sensors, wiring and conduit throughout, and multiple service and control stations which provide power to the lights.”
The project as a whole is essentially complete, Nelson said in an email Friday. The work should be completed by the end of June, and work on the Bruceton lights should begin within the next couple months.
