Terra Alta man charged with threatening officers, stealing pizza

KINGWOOD — A Terra Alta man is charged with stealing pizza while officers from several departments were at the restaurant.
Chester Edward Burns, 70, was in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail Friday in lieu of $10,000 bond. He is charged with larceny and threatening an officer.
According to the criminal complaint by Preston Sheriff’s Cpl. J.B. Childers: officers  from Preston, Tucker and Garrett County (Md.),   and Keyser, were paying their tabs at the Kingwood Pizza Hut Wednesday when Burns made comments about harassing officers.
After they went outside, Burns, carrying two slices of pizza in each hand, approached and told the officers, “Unzip my pants,” and that he had stolen the pizza.
Officers took Burns back inside, where they were told he hadn’t paid for the food taken from the buffet, which would have been $6.99. Burns resisted arrest, threatened the officer and told a Kingwood officer, “he did not know what he was messing with, that he knows people that can make him disappear.”
