Preston man charged with hitting DOH truck and damaging highway as he fled

KINGWOOD — An Albright man faces charges after police say he ran his truck into a DOH  plow truck, then damaged the road as he drove away.
Tyler John Uphold, 23, is charged with crashes involving damage to a vehicle, reckless driving, destruction of property, open container of alcohol and driving left of center. He is free on $5,000 bond.
According to the criminal complaint by State Police Trooper A.L. Barnette, on Jan. 25 , the  DOH driver said a Ford F150  crossed the center line of W.Va. 26 and hit the plow.  The Ford left marks in the road.
The marks went on for five miles,  to where the officer found the truck abandoned on Grape Run Road. A front tire was  barely still on, and there were 16 empty beer cans in the cab. Uphold later admitted he was the driver, the complaint says.
