A sampling of bills introduced Feb. 1

CHARLESTON – Here is a sampling of bills introduced Feb. 1. Monongalia-Preston-Marion-area lead sponsors and co-sponsors, if any, are noted.

SB 498, to require the Division of Highways and the Division of Personnel to collaborate to develop a special hiring process for DOH positions and to exempt the DOH from regular state Personnel Board procedures upon implementation of the special hiring process. Sen. Bob Beach, D-Monongalia, lead sponsor.
SB 500, to create the Sewer and Water Infrastructure Replacement Act and the Sewer and Water Infrastructure Replacement Fund. All local senators are co-sponsors.
SB 591, to increase pay for board of education members for meetings and training sessions. Sens. Mike Maroney, R-Marshall, Dave Sypolt, R-Preston, co-sponsors.
HB 2823, to require the DOH to post information about projects currently planned or underway in each district, such as where and when ditching, mowing, patching or paving is being conducted.
