Main Street Morgantown welcomes new leadership

Main Street Morgantown recently elected new executive committee members to lead the organization.
Gigi Villarreal was elected to serve as president, according to a press release from MSM.
Dominick Claudio is the new vice president, L.J. Giuliani is secretary and Melanie Thompson was re-elected treasurer.
“I have been with Main Street Morgantown since its founding in 1984, and it was an honor for me to have served as president of the organization,” said former MSM President Charlie McEwuen. “We have a great lineup of new officers and an enthusiastic board for them to work with, and I have complete confidence that MSM will continue to build a great place this year.”
All executive committee members for 2019 made it clear their mission is to find beneficial opportunities that will drive traffic to the Downtown Morgantown districts, and be ambassadors
for the area and organization in all capacities, according to the press release.
“I am honored to be surrounded by a team of Morgantowners who are equally passionate about preserving the downtown’s integrity and capitalizing on ways that we can share how special it is with others,” Villarreal said in the release.
This year, MSM strives to continue to move the needle forward in making the downtown area a major destination for the arts, dining, shopping and entertainment for tourists and residents alike. The Greater Morgantown CVB is a partner of MSM and will continue to seek  opportunities both organizations can collaborate on.
“The downtown is one of our most highly searched destinations due to arts and entertainment venues, local community activities, and, believe it or not, Don Knotts,” said MSM Board Member and GMCVB President/CEO Susan Riddle. “We gladly participate in opportunities to advance the tourism industry while actively assisting our partners’ progress such as MSM.”
