Morgantown man arrested after allegedly assaulting woman in Walmart

MORGANTOWN — A man was arrested after allegedly grabbing and biting a woman in Walmart on Wednesday night.

Joseph Dane Goodfellow, 30, of Morgantown, is charged with first-degree sexual abuse by the Morgantown Police Department.

According to a criminal complaint, Goodfellow approached a woman in the automotive section of the Walmart at 75 Retail Circle (off 4-H Camp Road) and asked her if she wanted a hug. The woman said she didn’t but told police Goodfellow hugged her anyways.

While hugging her, Goodfellow whispered in her ear, the complaint said. He asked the woman if she would go around the corner with him and said “don’t be so loud, the employees will hear,” the complaint stated.

Goodfellow also bit the woman’s neck and picked her up, made her straddle his body with her legs, grabbed and then squeezed her butt, the complaint said.

Goodfellow was arraigned in Monongalia County Magistrate Court and bond was set at $25,000 cash or surety. Bond has been posted.
