Second suspect arrested in murder of Justin Cassella in Fairmont

FAIRMONT — A second man has been arrested in the murder of 33-year-old Fairmont resident Justin Michael Cassella.

On Wednesday, Fairmont police received an anonymous tip of the whereabouts of fugitive William “Ed” “Pumpkin’” Littleton, 26, of Fairmont.  Multiple officers from Fairmont PD, Marion County Sheriff’s Department and the U.S. Marshal Service worked together to arrest Littleton at an East Side residence around 8:30 a.m. Wednesday.  According to police, Littleton did not resist.  He was charged with first-degree murder, arraigned and transported to North Central Regional Jail pending court proceedings.

On Dec. 26, Fairmont police responded to 2004 Dixie Ave., Fairmont, to a report of a dead man in the residence. The responding officers found that the male had an apparent gunshot wound to the upper torso. The victim was identified as Cassella. His body was transported to the Office of The Chief Medical Examiner in Charleston, for an autopsy.

On Dec. 28, Fairmont Police Department’s Detective Division arrested Richard Allen Moore II, 34, of Fairmont, for first-degree murder of Justin Cassella.  No bond has been set at this time. Moore is currently housed at the North Central Regional Jail.  A warrant for first-degree murder was also issued at that time for Littleton.
