Cold weather set to return in coming days

MORGANTOWN — Hold on to your heavy coat, AccuWeather’s Dave Dombeck said.
That’s because things are about to get seasonal (again).
After today and Tuesday that is, the senior meteorologist said.
Highs today are expected to be around   51, he said.
And Tuesday’s even better, with the mercury expected to climb close to 60 degrees.
Then, Wednesday brings back winter.
“Yeah, it’s gonna get cold,” he said. “It’s gonna feel cold.”
As he said, those 30-degree temperatures have a way of doing that.
“After Tuesday,” he said, “the ‘mild’ part of this mild winter goes away. At least for a little while.”
Wednesday and Thursday will be cold, he said, with highs of 34 and 30, respectively.
Be prepared for respectable spates of snow flurries on both days also, he said — but with no accumulation.
The catalyst, Dombeck  said, is a storm system currently brewing over the Midwest that could drop as much as 8 inches of snow on the mountains of New England by the time it is done.
“Always something,” he said.
