Dennis Michael Lynch

Dennis Michael Lynch, 65, of Fairmont, died Nov. 14, 2018, at his home after a period of declining health.
He was born in Manchester, N.H., on Aug. 4, 1953, to John and Marie (Finnegan) Lynch.

Dennis graduated valedictorian from Bishop Bradley High School in Manchester. He completed his under graduate degree at St. Anselm College, in Goffstown, N.H., where his father was a lifelong professor. He went on to earn two master’s degrees, from the University of Pittsburgh and West Virginia University. He then went on to become a professor at both institutions.

Dennis was passionate about recovery. He became a clinical addictions therapist and worked with alcoholics and addicts at Chestnut Ridge Hospital, in Morgantown, for 30 years. He helped countless people and will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

Dennis loved his family, he was a devoted husband and father, committed brother and lifelong friend to many. He loved all animals, especially cats. He loved listening to music, The Kinks were his favorite. He loved sports, his favorite teams were the Red Soxs and the Patriots and he was a true and loyal fan.

Left to cherish his memory include his wife, Susan Cherubino-Lynch; three children, Dylan and Hannah Merrill and Christa Merrill-Fazio; two grandchildren, Chloe and Peyton Fazio; four siblings, John A. Lynch Jr., Maureen Lynch-Thornton, Gail Lynch and James Lynch; in addition to many in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews, all profoundly touched by his life and deeply mourning his absence.
Services were private, officiated by fellow classmate and friend Dr. Jerome Day, O.S.B. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery, in Bedford, N.H.

A memorial mass will be offered for Dennis at Immaculate Conception Church, 329 Maryland Ave., in Fairmont, at 10 a.m. Dec. 15, followed by a light lunch in Marion Hall.
The family requests any donations in his memory to be made to Immaculate Conception Church.
