Three family members killed in Friday accident

PENTRESS — A father and two of his children were killed Friday when their vehicle crashed into a dump truck.

Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department has identified the victims as Patricia Hawkins, 71; Danny Booher, 70 and Ray Booher, 90. All three were from New Martinsville.

The investigation revealed a 2013 Toyota Venza traveling west on Mason-Dixon Highway crossed the center line and hit a 2001 Western Star dump truck traveling east, a sheriff department press release states.

The collision occurred in front of Chisler Brothers in Pentress, Chief Deputy Al Kisner said.

Hawkins, the driver of the Toyota, was declared dead at the crash as was Danny Booher, who rode in the back passenger-side seat, according to the release.

Ray Booher, the father of Hawkins and Danny Booher, died while being transported to Ruby Memorial hospital, the release states.

David Christian was also a passenger in the Venza and was taken to the hospital to be examined, but deputies at the crash said he did not appear to be seriously injured.

The deceased will be taken to the State Medical Examiner’s Officer for autopsy.

The driver of the dump truck, 62-year-old Leroy Keuning, of Pennsylvania, was not injured in the crash, according to the release.
