Second Preston man charged with kidnapping

KINGWOOD — A second man is charged in connection with  the alleged kidnapping and assault of two people in October.
Jason Allen Lambert, 37, of Masontown, was in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail Tuesday without bond. Still in jail is Christopher William Nice, 24, of Masontown, who was arrested last month. Both men are charged with kidnapping. Police said they are cousins.
As previously reported, in October, a man told Preston deputies that his son had called and said he had been beaten was being held against his will because of a $6,000 debt. His life was threatened, he said.
The father  met the kidnapper on Rohr Road He received another call, threatening to kill his son if he called police. Deputies watching from a distance listened to the conversation on an open cell phone line.
Nice allegedly arrived in a car with the victim and threatened his life again. Officers rushed in and arrested Nice then. Another man, identified in his criminal complaint as Lambert, was still talking with the victim’s father when police acted.
The victim, who displayed multiple injuries, said a female friend was also held against her will. Police found she was dropped off at a relative’s home after being beaten, doused with gasoline and threatened with a gun.
Threats were also made to cut off her fingers. Officers saw injuries on the woman and said she smelled of gasoline.
