New doors for city garage on hold, resident worried about speeding at Westover council meeting

WESTOVER — At its most recent meeting Monday Westover city council tabled a vote to buy new garage doors for the city garage due to an inaccuracy in one of the bids.

The city received two bids for the project to install two garage doors. One from Danny’s Door Service in Morgantown and one from Sellaro’s Overhead Door Service.

Danny’s quote was $4,530 and Sellaro’s was $7,600. However, the quote from Danny’s was for non-insulated doors.

Councilman Al Yocum suggested due to the significant difference in price the issue be tabled. The vote to do was unanimous.

The council also voted unanimously to adopt updated city codes to bring them in line with legislative changes.

Stephanie Harbaugh, of Fairmor Avenue, asked the city to do something about the speeders on her street. She said the problem is especially bad around 5-6 p.m. and said the recently installed speedbumps are more like launch pads.
