West Virginia University student struck by motorcycle in front of Mountainlair

MORGANTOWN — A WVU student was struck by a vehicle in front of the Mountainlair on Tuesday morning.

Logan O. Rimmey, 20, was struck by Rachael K. McCallister, 22, driving a Honda motorcycle, according to Major Phillip Scott, of WVU Police.

He said the initial investigation showed McCallister was traveling south on University Avenue when she struck Rimmey in the crosswalk between the Mountainlair and Martin Hall.

The incident occurred just before 11 a.m.

Rimmey’s hand was hurt, but he was evaluated by EMS and not taken to the hospital, Scott said. McCallister was taken to the hospital with an arm injury.

Charges are pending.
