Part of Gov. Justice’s Roads to Prosperity plan and financed with General Obligation Bonds authorized by the constitutional amendment, the project was awarded to Mountaineer Contractors, Inc. out of Kingwood, with a bid of $8,748,593.01.

Work is scheduled to begin later this year and will begin with utility relocation and continued acquisition of right-of-way.  Major construction work is expected to start in the spring.
