Tunnelton man charged with high-speed pursuit, selling drugs

KINGWOOD — A Tunnelton man has been charged with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver and fleeing with reckless indifference.
James Lowell Baylor, 39, was in the Tygart Valley Regional Jail Wednesday in lieu of $10,000 bond. According to the criminal complaint by Preston Sheriff’s Cpl. J.B. Childers, he led officers on a high-speed pursuit of up to 100 mph  from Terra Alta to the Old Tunnelton Pike Tuesday.
Along the way, he nearly hit several other drivers, continued fleeing even after running over  stop  sticks and was struck by a pickup, according to the complaint. Officers said they found five bags, each containing an average of .51 grams of a crystal white substance, in his car.
Baylor also had empty bags, a loaded syringe and scales, according to the criminal complaint, but denied that the substance in the bags and the syringe were his.
