Police seek to identify two men in relation shots fired on High Street

MORGANTOWN — WVU Police are looking for the person who fired a gun into the air early Sunday morning on North High Street.

Officers heard the shots just after 1 a.m. and went to North High Street, but the scene was clear when law enforcement arrived, according to a WVU press release. There were no injuries in the incident.

Three 9mm bullet casings were found on the sidewalk and next to the curb in front of 670 North High St., WVU Police Chief W. P. Chedester said.

670 North High St. is the Kappa Alpha Order house.

Witnesses told investigators several men were arguing when one pulled a gun and fired it into the air before running away, the press release stated.

A search of the surrounding area by Morgantown and WVU Police did not turn up a suspect, the press release said.

Chedester said the investigation is continuing, as officers are talking to witnesses and look at videos from cameras the area.

Monday morning, WVU Police tweeted an image of two men who Chedester said were in the area at the time of the shooting. He said the department needs the community’s help to identify the men.
