Michael Yanego

Michael Yanego Jr., 90, of Fairmont, passed away on September 12, 2018, at J.W. Ruby Memorial Hospital. He was born on October 22, 1927, in Jordan,  a son of the late Michael and Mary (Teray) Yanego.
Michael proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. Following his military service, Mike worked at Industrial Engineers, in Fairmont. He was also employed as a coal miner, as a proud member of the United Mine Workers of America, retiring from the Humphrey Mine.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, George Yanego, John Yanego Sr., Steve Yanego, Joe Yanego, and Frank Yanego; sister, Mary Campos; and sisters-in-law, Mary Yanego, Evelyn Yanego, and Harriet Yanego.
Michael is survived by brothers, Paul Yanego and Carl Yanego, both of Morgantown; sister-in-law, Sheila Yanego, of Fairmont; and several loving nieces and nephews, including, Tammy Fluharty and husband Alan, of Fairmont, Frank R. Yanego and wife Sandy, of Grant Town, Brian Yanego and wife, Andrea, of Fairmont, John Yanego Jr. and wife Carol, of Morgantown, Mark Yanego and wife Andrea, of Fairmont, Cindy Wilson and husband Dave, of Fairmont, Donna Davis and husband Steve, of Virginia, and Becky Yanego Grantham, of Fairmont.
Friends and family will be received at the Carpenter & Ford Funeral Home, in  Fairmont, from 5 – 8 p.m.  on Thursday, September 13,  and from 11 a.m. on Friday, September 14, until the funeral service at 1 p.m. with Pastor Nathan Barker officiating.
Interment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, with Full Military Honors provided by the Marion County Veteran’s Honor Council and the United States Army Reserves at Camp Dawson.
