Dorlene Marie Teets, 89, of Kingwood, passed peacefully at Preston Memorial Hospital with family by her side.
She was born April 11, 1929, in Rodamer Community, a daughter of the late Daniel Bailey and Ethel Daisy Lee Layton.
She was a loving mother, grandmother and sister. Dorlene was a bookkeeper for Western Auto, Clyde Haney Sunoco and Various trucking companies.
She is survived by her son, Edward C. Teets, Jr. and wife, Brenda, of Kingwood,; two brothers, Joe Layton, of Terra Alta and Ronald (Mike) Layton, of Herdon, Va.; four sisters, Eileen (Sadie) Johnson, of Terra Alta, Pauline Wilson and husband, Jerry, of Oakland, Md., Wanda Hardesty and husband, Geno, of Terra Alta and Teresa Lewis and husband, Ron, of Culpepper, Va.; her grandson, Joseph Teets and wife, Cortney, of Kingwood; two great-grandchildren, Allyson and Bryson Teets and several nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Edward Carl Teets, Sr.; three brothers, Ercil, Donald and Jerry Layton and one sister, Linda Lantz.
Friends will be received at Browning Funeral Home, in Kingwood, from 6 – 9 p.m. on Wednesday, September 5, and at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 6, for services with Pastor Paul Rebelo officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
The family would like to thank Dr. Mike Schwarzenberg, Pine Ridge and Preston Memorial Hospital for all the loving care given to Mrs. Teets during her illness.
