Ricky Eugene “Doughboy” Johnson

Ricky Eugene “Doughboy” Johnson, 55, of Masontown, passed away, Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2018, unexpectedly at his home.

He was born in Morgantown on March 16, 1963, a son of Anna M. Shaffer Johnson, of Masontown, and the late Maurice (Reace) Johnson.

He was a loving husband and father. He was a truck driver for most of his life and later owned and operated his own company, Snake Hill Trucking. He enjoyed riding his Harley and spending special time with his granddaughter, Abigail, and his beloved dog, Sissy.

Ricky is survived by his wife, Patty Burns Johnson; one son, Ricky Johnson and wife, Carrie; a daughter Nicole Johnson and companion, Nathan Thomas; two brothers, Mike Johnson and wife, Jennifer and Jerry “Oogie” Johnson and wife, Dana, all of Masontown; one sister, Kathy Klein and husband, Ben, of Cleveland; three grandchildren, Abigail Thomas, Kiley Cole and Devyn Knotts; 17 nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his father, Maurice (Reace) Johnson; one brother, Robert Johnson; mother and father-in-law, Patricia and Raymond Burns; sister-in-law, Diane Alkire; and three uncles.

Friends may call at Field Funeral Home, in Masontown, from 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, and from 11 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 29, until the 1 p.m. service with the Rev. Marvin Shaffer officiating. To honor his wishes, he will then be cremated.
