Two men charged with felony conspiracy and possession with intent

MORGANTOWN — An apartment search by the Mon Metro Drug Task Force led to the arrest of two Detroit men.

Douglas E. McClendon, 27, and Deaire Lecon Hinton, both face charges of felony conspiracy and possession with intent. Hinton faces a second possession with intent charge.
The task force searched their Alpine Street apartment and found “bulk” amounts of heroin and crack, according to a criminal complaint. Two handguns, paper folds of heroin for distribution, packaging and weighing materials and multiple cell phones were also seized during the search.
McClendon was known to the task face because of an active warrant for previously delivering heroin in April 2017, the complaint stated.
A positive field test determined the seized substances were crack and heroin.
Each count of possession with intent is punishable by one to five years in prison and/or a fine up to $15,000. Felony conspiracy is punishable by one to five years in prison and/or a fine of no more than $10,000.
The two are being held in North Central Regional Jail — McClendon in lieu of $150,000 bond and Hinton in lieu of $200,000 bond.
