MountainFest Motorcycle Rally returns July 26-27

MORGANTOWN — The Greater Morgantown Convention and Visitors Bureau (GMCVB) is gearing up for the 14th Annual Wild and Wonderful MountainFest Motorcycle Rally.
MountainFest is a four day event — July 26-29 — at Mylan Park. There will be live rock and country music, a variety of food trucks and beverage vendors, and tons of activities including a bike parade and poker run.
Throughout the years, MountainFest has welcomed 525,000 attendees, as well as 75 musical artists.
To kick the weekend off, MountainFest is welcoming country music star, Montgomery Gentry, back to the Coal Bucket Saloon on July 26. Bret Michaels, former front man for Poison, will then take the main stage July 27.
Award-winning Alabama will make its debut at this year’s lineup July 28.
“This looks to be MountainFest’s best year yet,” said Jamie Summerlin, director of major events and destinations at GMCVB.
Weekend passes are free for children under 12 years of age, $30 for teens, and $60 for adults 21 and older. There are also one-day and VIP passes available.
GMCVB created a scenic rides route to share with the thousands of attending riders, which showcases popular locations throughout greater Morgantown.
“While we pride ourselves on the great rides available in our area, we want to also make the attendees’ onsite experiences the best it can possibly be,” Summerlin said . “As a non-profit, we are also excited to give back to the community through the dollars both spent and raised that help elevate the quality of life in the Greater Morgantown area.”
The event is presented by MountainFest, LLC. and many sponsors, including the GMCVB. All of the MountainFest proceeds return to Mylan Park’s foundation to continue improving and developing the park as a major attraction.
“As our largest pillar event, MountainFest positively impacts our local tourism economy more so than any other event the GMCVB supports,” said Susan Riddle, executive director of the GMCVB. “We have been a proud supporter of this event for many years.”
