Lavina V. “Beanie” Kern Albright

Lavina V. “Beanie” Kern Albright, 88, of Morgantown, passed away peacefully at Pine Ridge, in Kingwood, with her loved ones by her side Sun-day, July 8, 2018.
She was born Nov. 6, 1929, as the first child of the late Francis and Inez Kern.
The Kern family was given the opportunity and thrived as original homesteaders due to the Arthur-dale New Deal community created by President Frank-lin and Eleanor Roosevelt.

Beanie’s passion was to sit everyone at her big table for a meal she prepared. No one entered her doors without enjoying at least a cup of coffee and a homemade donut. Her most fond memories were of her days cooking for Hazel Ruby McQuain.

Those going before her include her beloved husband, Donald Albright; her daughter, Carol Ann Lynham; special aunts, Leona Riffle and Florence Calandrelli; uncle, Glenn Dixon; nephew, Randy Allen Walls; niece, Dianne Albright Collins; and brothers and sisters-in-law, William (June) and Marie Albright, Nettie and Charles Lee, Mary and Glenn Shay, Charles and Juanita Albright, Ruby and Denzel Turner, Charlotte and Bob Sypolt.

Lavina is survived by her most precious grandson, Michael Loughry, of Okeechobee, Fla.; her sister, Eleanor Kern Walls and husband, Sherl, of Atlanta; daughter and son-in-law, Donna and David Davis, of Reedsville; grandchildren, Danni Davis-Moran and husband, Sean, David Davis and wife, Megan, Kristin Lynham, Nicholas Lynham and fiancé Kerry Schupple; the precious and well loved great-grandchildren, Victoria, Billy and Holly Roberts and Ava and Matthew Davis; nephew, Gene and Abbey Walls; nieces, Debbie Walls, Beverly Langford and Karen Hull; nieces, Betty and John Raber, Janis and Earl Jolley; nephews, Bud and Pam Albright, Larry and Carolyn Turner, Joe Albright, Bill and Sherry Thomas; best friend, Anne Felty; along with many cousins, and an extended family of friends and acquaintances.

Words can never express the gratitude the family has for the staff at Pine Ridge on 300 section and WV Caring. During her time at Pine Ridge, especially the last days of her life, the level of compassion and outpouring of love were exceptional and given freely.

Friends will be received at Browning Funeral Home, 201 E. Main St., Kingwood, from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, and from 10 a.m. Thursday, July 12, until the noon service. Burial to follow at Arthurdale Community Cemetery. Pastor David Kisamore of Mill Chapel United Brethren Church in Christ will officiate along with Soloist and Speaker Pastor Marshall Woods.
Lavina will be forever missed and dearly loved.
