Morgantown man arrested for allegedly intentionally hitting cyclist with car

MORGANTOWN — Morgantown Police arrested a man Saturday after they say he deliberately struck a bicyclist with his vehicle.

At about 4:27 p.m. Saturday, Morgantown Police Department responded to a call of a cyclist being struck by a motor vehicle in the area of Chestnut Ridge Road, near Van Voorhis Road. The investigation revealed that the driver of the vehicle struck the cyclist intentionally, following a brief argument.

The suspect was identified as Christopher Sean Howard, of Southview Street, Morgantown. He was later found walking near Van Voorhis Road and taken into custody.

He has been charged with malicious wounding and is being held pending arraignment.

The victim, a 39-year-old female, was transport to Ruby Memorial Hospital by Mon Health EMS and is being treated for injuries which are not believed to be life threatening
