GRKMANIA to perform Friday at Pricketts Fort

FAIRMONT — GRKMANIA will perform from 7-8:30 p.m. Friday at the outdoor amphitheater at Pricketts Fort. This three-generation polka band is made up of Joe Sr., brothers Joe Jr. and Steve, and grandson Mike.
The band seeks to preserve the ethnic heritage of Slovenian Americans through musical performance and plays polkas, and waltzes — traditional songs Joe Sr. learned from his mother and songs sung in the coals mines where he worked.
He plays the button accordion, which has no keys, only buttons on both finger panels, earning him the title, “Button Box King.”

Permanent seating is provided at the amphitheater. Prickett’s Fort State Park is 2 miles off of I-79 at Exit 139.

The 2018 concert series is provided free of charge.
