Betty Dumire

Betty Mae Dumire, 89, of Morgantown, passed away on June 26, 2018. Born May 19, 1929, in West Newton, Pa., the eldest child of William and Glenna Bibby. She married Woodrow Dumire on October 8, 1949.
She worked as a seamstress at the Morgan Shirt Factory until the birth of her only child, Sherry.  Later on, she worked as a cashier at the Richwood Ave. Dairy Mart, from which she retired.

She was a long-time faithful member of Sabraton United Methodist Church and served as the church treasurer for many years.  She was a Sunday school teacher and contributed to annual church sales with her time and talents.
Betty created a loving home for her family. She found much joy in making others happy, especially by sending greeting cards and sewing baby blankets.

Betty is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sherry and Chris Condon, of Morgantown; sisters, Goldie Kunzler and Dorothy Bibby, of Ruffsdale, Pa.; sisters-in-law, Rose Dumire, of Morgantown and Ruby Dumire, of Front Royal, Va.; nephews, Robert (Linda) Bibby and Pride (Trish) Neuenschwander; nieces, Paula (Greg) Quador, Mary Dumire (David), Andrea (Greg) Gilleland; 10 great nieces and nephews; and seven great-great nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by brother, Robert Bibby; sister, Gladys Jean Neuenschwander; brothers-in-law, Thomas Dumire, Roy Neuenschwander and James Kunzler; and nieces, Darla Neuenschwander and Diane Short.

Visitation will be held at Hastings Funeral Home, from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, June 29, and from 1-2 p.m. on Saturday, June 30, with services to follow   with the  Rev. Charles May and Pastor Stephen Prince officiating.
