Violet Rae Hixenbaugh Ammons Pido

Violet Rae Hixenbaugh Ammons Pido, 95, of Blacksville, died Saturday, June 16, 2018, at Mapleshire Nursing Home, in Morgantown.
She was born Feb. 9, 1923, in Daybrook, a daughter of the late Arthur R. Hixenbaugh and Laura Catherine Keck Hixenbaugh.
Mrs. Pido was a retired housekeeper for the former WVU Hospital. Mrs. Pido was in the first class that graduated from Clay-Battelle High School.
She was a member of the Daybrook Church of Christ.
Surviving are three sons and their wives, Jesse and Helen Ammons, of Waynesburg, Pa., Bob and Connie Ammons, of Core, and Isaac and Penny Ammons, of Daybrook; two daughters and their spouses, Laura Rose Travis and husband, Harold, of The Villages, Fla., and Barbara Guest and husband, Bob, of Garard, Pa.; 15 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Isaac Jesse Ammons; second husband, Joseph Pido; one sister, Verena Henderson; and two brothers, Verl Hixenbaugh and Arthur Hixenbaugh.
Friends may call at Owen-Neely Funeral Home, 5894 Mason-Dixon Highway, Blacksville, from 6-9 p.m. Wednesday. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 21, with Evangelist Mike Phillips officiating. Interment will follow at Daybrook Cemetery.
