Dorothy Virginia Shaw, 93, of Morgantown, passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018, at Mon Health Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Morgantown on Oct. 31, 1924, a daughter of the late George and Laura Brown.
Dorothy worked at the Colshire Pajama Factory in Morgantown for 20 years and the kitchen at Arnold Hall at WVU. She attended the Glory Bound Tabernacle Church. She was a
loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother.
She is survived by two sons, Bruce Shaw and Kendra “Candy,” of Morgantown, and Allen “Buddy” Shaw and Linda, of Reedsville; five daughters, Joyce Dalton and Harry, of Morgantown, Rosalee Johnson and Harv, of Maidsville, Janice “Cookie” Polce, of Masontown, Deborah Friend and Skip, of Bretz, and Wilma Statler and Leroy, of Morgantown; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Gaylord Gerald Shaw; two daughters, Vivian McMillen and Nancy Shaw; and her biological mother, Edith King.
Friends may call at Field Funeral Home, in Masontown, from 5-8 p.m. Tuesday. Funeral services will be held at noon, Wednesday, June 13, with Pastor Brian Long officiating. Interment will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, in Morgantown.
