Valley View Avenue to be shutdown for leak repair
Morgantown Utility Board will close Valley View Avenue from Chestnut Ridge Road to 7th Street from 8:30 a.m.-2 p.m. today to repair a water leak.
Lady of Agriculture applications open
BRUCETON MILLS — Applications for Lady of Agriculture can be picked up at the Preston High guidance office and the Preston County Extension Office in Kingwood. Applications must be returned by Friday.
Those eligible are young ladies enrolled as juniors at PHS. Info: Peggy Galloway at 304-379-7812.

Consumer specialist to meet with residents

Pam Krushansky, a consumer outreach and compliance specialist with the attorney general’s office, will meet with north central residents to discuss consumer-related issues and answer any potential questions.
The events are as scheduled:

  • Today: 10-11 a.m. — Preston County Commission Annex, 106 W. Main St., Kingwood
  • Friday: 10:30-11 a.m. — WVU OLLI, 5000 Green Bag Road, Morgantown
  • Monday: 10:30-11:30 a.m. — Mannington Senior Center, 1 Senior Drive, Mannington
  • May 24: 2-3 p.m. — Cheat Lake Library, 121 Crosby Road, Morgantown

The events are open to the public; reservations are not required.

Community Yard Sale set for Saturday
ARTHURDALE — The Arthurdale Community Yard Sale will be held Saturday. Neighbors will have tables with items for sale at their homes. Arthurdale Heritage will provide free maps at their office at 18 Q Road.

Check out employment fair at Camp Dawson
KINGWOOD — An employment and training fair will be held noon-3 p.m. Thursday, at the Armed Forces Reserve Center at Camp Dawson.

The event is being sponsored by Health and Human Resources, WV Workforce, the Preston County Chamber of Commerce, Preston County Economic Development Authority and the West Virginia National Guard.
Route 37 road closure set for Thursday-Friday
The West Virginia Division of Highways advises motorists of a road closure on County Route 37, Hagans Road, at MP 5.75, from 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Thursday and Friday. Alternate routes are 37/3 and 37/5. Only local traffic will be allowed.
