CLARKSBURG — Abbey Ammons and Caitlyn Kassay combined on a two-hitter, and Rylee Burnette homered and drove in three runs April 27 to lead Clay-Battelle to a 4-0 softball victory over Notre Dame.
Between them, Ammons and Kassay allowed just three walks and struck out 15 batters.
Ammons, Kassay and Burnette all had two hits apiece for the Cee-Bees (15-3), who next play at Hundred, at 11 a.m. today.

Gazette Relays: CHARLESTON — University High’s girls are in second place, two points behind Parkersburg, in Class AAA after the first day of the 83rd relays.
Preston’s girls sit in fourth place out of eight AAA teams.
UHS’s Zoe Shetty won the 3200, running 10:49.91, with teammate Peyton Kukura in third.
UHS won the 4×800 relay, with Emma Williams, Emma Troischt, Caroline Kirby and Shetty running 10:03.19.
Preston came in third.
Preston’s Kirsten Brown came in second in the shot put, throwing 33 feet, 11 inches.
Trinity’s Reagan Sharp was third in the Class A long jump, at 14-8 1/2.
The Warriors are fourth in a seven-team meet.
In the AAA boys’ meet, Preston is fourth.
The Knights’ Ward Ries took third place in the 3200 (9:43.75), and the PHS 4×800 relay team finished second, in 8:14.14.
