Detectives investigate Old Stewartstown Road shooting

MORGANTOWN — Monongalia County Sheriff’s detectives are investigating the shooting death of a 67-year-old on Old Stewartstown Road.
Persons of interest have been detained in Pennsylvania, according to information released by Sheriff Perry Palmer Wednesday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Timothy Pahl, according to a press release from Palmer. The release indicated Pahl had been shot multiple times in the abdomen.
Chief Deputy Al Kisner said the persons of interest were detained north of Philadelphia, but said no further information was being released Wednesday.
He said he couldn’t say who found Pahl or what kind of gun was used. More information was expected after detectives continued the investigation.
Deputies were dispatched to “an unattended death” at a home on Old Stewartstown Road Tuesday and found the man dead.
“The incident is believed to have occurred on [Sunday] during the afternoon hours and is being investigated as a homicide,” according to the press release.
During the investigation at the scene, it was learned Pahl’s white 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 crew cab pick-up truck was missing.
Kisner said he couldn’t say if the truck had been located as of Wednesday afternoon.
The investigation was turned over to county detectives and anyone with information is asked to call them at 304-291-7218.
