MORGANTOWN — West Virginia University basketball coach Bob Huggins announced today that sophomore forward Maciej Bender has asked for his release and plans to transfer.
Bender, a native of Warsaw, Poland, played in 35 games in 2017-18, averaging 1.2 points and 1.9 rebounds per game.
“We have enjoyed Magic and his contributions to Mountaineer basketball,” Huggins said. “We wish him the best in his future endeavors.”
