Richard “Rich” Allen Harman

Richard “Rich” Allen Harman, 58, of Morgantown, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at home on Thursday, March 15, 2018.

Born in Morgantown on March 25, 1959, he was the son of the late William “Bill” and Ethel Harman. In addition to his parents, Rich was preceded in death by his sister, Rose Harman; and his brother, Sam Harman.

Rich is survived by his wife of 36 years, Tina M. Harman; his two children and their spouses, son, Richard Allen Harman-Smith Jr. and Quinton Smith, of North Carolina, and daughter, Amanda and John Mason, of Morgantown. He was a proud pappy to Ava and Audrey Mason. He was a brother to William “Bill” Harman Jr. and Becky Harman. He had several nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly.

Rich was a hard-working man and spent his life dedicated to his family. He was a truck driver and heavy equipment operator for 40 years. Rich lived a wonderful life. He enjoyed working in his garage, but his pride and joy were his grandbabies.

Rich decided to donate his body to West Virginia University science research. A celebration of life event will be held at a later date.

We wish to thank the staff of WV Caring for their dedicated and caring support of Rich for the last year of his life. Special thank you to friends and family for their support and prayers during this difficult time.
