MORGANTOWN — The long, green building that once housed the Mountain People’s Co-op — at the foot of Fayette Street where Beechurst Avenue Y’s off of University — has come down to make way for a parking lot.
A yellow Caterpillar shovel was clearing away rubble last week.
Morgantown city administration told The Dominion Post that WVU now owns the property and planned to put a parking lot there.
WVU was unable to provide details on the project — such as the cost and timing and the number of spaces the lot will provide — in time for publication.
Mountain People’s Co-op is now located at 131 Pleasant St., Morgantown
