East Fairmont student missing

The Dominion Post

MORGANTOWN — Dashaun Stevens, 16, of Morgantown, is missing.

His dad, Josiah Lockett, said he last saw his son after he visited home on Feb. 25.

“He just took off,” he said. “I don’t know why he did it.”

Stevens attends East Fairmont High School and lives at the Stepping Stones Placement House in Fairmont, his father said.

The Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department has entered Stevens into the National Crime Information Center (NCIC), database and any officer who runs his name through the system will see he is a missing juvenile from Monongalia County, Chief Deputy Al Kisner said.

Stevens was last seen wearing a red Jordan jersey, a red zip-up jacket, red shoes and blues jeans, Kisner said.

Lockett said he doesn’t believe his son is living under a bridge or struggling to find food, but that someone is sheltering him.

“I just wish they would stop thinking that they’re helping him,” he said. “All they’re doing is making things worse.”

Anyone with information on Stevens’ location should call the Monongalia County Sheriff’s Department at 304-291-7260, or Lockett at 681-443-1609

Lockett said if he could give one message to his son it would be to please come home.
