CHARLESTON — The House Judiciary Committee began work Jan. 26 on a resolution for a constitutional amendment to elect state school board members.

After allowing some time for questions on the resolution, committee chairman John Shott, R-Mercer, sent it to a three-person subcommittee for some massaging.

The resolution is HJR 103 and came to Judiciary from the Education Committee. If the resolution passes, the proposed amendment would go before the voters in November.
