Lead Carpenter position with Rising Sun Construction

$24.00hr plus benefits and PTO.  A successful candidate for this position could expect to move into a foreman position within a year.  Additional benefits would include gas card and company vehicle and increased pay, $27.00hr.  with PTO and benefits

This position is 5 days a week, 40 hours a week.  Besides being occasionally sick, the occasional family emergency and scheduled time off, you will be expected to be on time and at work each day M-F.

  • Communicating with fellow employees and being part of a team
  • Adherence to and respect for job site safety understanding the general process of building or renovating a custom home from start to finish
  • Reading blueprints and troubleshooting difficult projects for successful and timely completion
  • Organizing a crew of 2-3 employees and articulating goals and expectations for them
  • Custom home framing, including stairs, complex roofing and angles, complex decks, window and door installation
  • Basic concrete forming and finishing
  • Interior trim finish work, doors, complex baseboard and crown, cabinet installation, stair posts, stair railing and stair balusters
  • Some experience operating equipment such as skid steers and excavators
  • Account for and order additional material on site as needed.
  • A clean driving record
  • A driver’s license in good standing
  • An ability to get to work
  • An ability to work overtime occasionally
