Preston High class learns about cultivation of flowers, how to create arrangements

Students can take test, become floral designers KINGWOOD — Preston High School is offering a new floriculture simulated work place class this year.  Floriculture is the cultivation of flowers or flowering plants, especially for ornamental purposes. Agriculture teacher Samantha Funk said she and her 24  students are making and selling Thanksgiving and Christmas arrangements. If the application goes through, West Virginia Academy Ltd. will be the first charter school in the Mountain State, operating in one of the more successful public school districts. Plans are for the school to be based in the Morgantown area, while recruiting students across Monongalia County.
