Coal Communities Workgroup sets Morgantown listening tour stop for Nov. 10

MORGANTOWN – The Morgantown stop for the House of Delegates Coal Communities Workgroup listening tour has a new date.

The group will be at the Shack Neighborhood House in Pursglove from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Nov. 10. Delegate Evan Hansen, D-Monongalia, is a workgroup member and will be host for the evening.

The bipartisan group was formed earlier this year. It’s goal “is to go into communities and talk with local residents as well as local community and business leaders, to determine what our coal communities specifically need to succeed and what tools are already available.”

Hansen said that the initial meeting in Logan drew about 80-100 people and produced constructive conversations and ideas.

The group will come to Moundsville, at the Marshall County Fairgrounds Chevron Building, on Nov, 9, also from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
