W.Va. BOE passes policy to change grading scale

MORGANTOWN — The West Virginia Board of Education passed policy 2510 in a unanimous vote.

Policy 2510 will change the grading scale to a 10-point scale. Currently an A requires a minimum of 93 out of 100. The 10 point scale will mean an A is earned at 90.

The bill also reduces the number of credits needed to graduate by two elective credits.

The policy will take effect July 1, Jessica Hall, communications lead for the West Virginia Department of Education, said in an email.
