KINGWOOD — Police are searching for a man who robbed the Kingwood branch of BB&T Bank shortly after noon on March 13.

The robber was described by police as in his late 20s to early 30s, with a scruffy beard. He was wearing a gray sweatshirt with “Pacifica” in red letters on the front. He also wore jeans, black gloves, a black scarf and a black toboggan cap.

According to scanner traffic, he did not show tellers a weapon and left on foot.

Police did not say how much money the man got. Preston Sheriff’s Deputies and Kingwood Police are investigating.

David R. White, vice president of Corporate Communications for BB&T, said the branch will reopen March 13.

This was the second robbery in Kingwood within a week. The Tobacco Barn, on East Main Street, was robbed March 6. That suspect got away with a carton of cigarettes and is still being sought by police.
