Preston BOE discusses levy

BRUCETON MILLS — The Preston County Board of Education voted Dec. 18 to place a levy on the May ballot, but details of what it will include are still being worked out.

In a work session after its regular board meeting, the board talked about what to include in the eight categories on the levy. Exactly how much will be spent in each category is still under discussion. That will be discussed at the 6 p.m. Jan. 3 public meeting at the board offices to finalize the call.

The categories mirror responses received on a community survey taken by the board. A total of 532 people responded to the survey, which asked respondents what they would support in a levy, what community they identify with and other information.
