MORGANTOWN — A Jefferson County man faces charges of wanton endangerment and forgery after police said he provided false information during his initial arrest.

Keldon Michael Bell, 21, of Ranson, was charged Sept. 12 by Morgantown police. His bond was set at $15,000.

According to criminal complaints and a Morgantown Police Department news release: Bell used a stolen firearm to strike a man in the head at the Chestnut Street parking garage shortly before 2 a.m. Sept. 10.

The victim suffered a “brain bleed,” according to criminal complaints, and was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital for treatment.

Bell and three others were arrested a short while later, but Bell falsely identified himself using the name Damarie Stewart, 21, of Charles Town. Stewart has not been charged with a crime by the Morgantown Police Department.
