Mon BOE discusses new insurance policy

MORGANTOWN — At the final Monongalia County Board of Education meeting of the year the board was informed of an updated insurance policy as well as construction updates related to on-going work.

Nicole Kemper, treasurer and chief school business officer, informed the board that one of the district’s insurance policies was renewed.

The policy cost $308,000, which is down from last year’s premium of $314,000.

Ted Shriver, architect, told the board that construction at South Middle School — which includes classrooms and science labs — is going well, despite being two or three days behind schedule.

The board’s next regular meeting will be at 7 p.m., Jan. 9, at 13 South High St.
