State schools superintendent: Strike days must be made up

MORGANTOWN — West Virginia’s 55 public school districts got some homework from Charleston on March 8.

State schools Superintendent Steve Paine last the nine days lost duirng the recent teacher walkout must be made up, no matter what.

In Monongalia County, Superintendent Frank Devono said he and board members will decide in the days ahead whether to cancel spring break, which was scheduled for later this month.

Graduation dates for Monongalia’s three public high schools won’t be affected, he said.
