KINGWOOD — Police are seeking the person who robbed the Tobacco Barn on Pleasant Avenue in Kingwood Tuesday afternoon.

Kingwood Police Chief Todd Nestor said the thief entered the store in east Kingwood about 3 p.m. and brandished a pocket knife to the single female employee. The robber ended up leaving with just a carton of cigarettes, Nestor said.

The subject — “We’re not sure if it was a male or female yet” — fled on foot toward the nearby Green Acres apartment complex. Preston Sheriff’s deputies assisted with a K-9 unit, but as of Tuesday afternoon, the robber was still being sought.

The suspect was about 5-foot-3-inches to 5-foot-5-inches tall, and was wearing a black and green hoody, blue jeans, a bandana over the face, sunglasses and pink camouflage rain boots.

Anyone with information is asked to call the non-emergency number for Preston 911, which is 304-329-1026.
