MORGANTOWN — The Morgantown High School Choir will perform the song “I Want To Know What Love Is” with the band, Foreigner, this week. Choir members had their last rehearsal Monday evening at Harvest Church in preparation for the concert.

Dr. Lauren Tosh is the MHS choir director and led the students during their rehearsal. Foreigner’s manager contacted Tosh and said they were looking for a school choir to join them in one song, and she was lucky enough to be the first high school director to pick up the phone and answer the call.

When asked about students’ reactions to performing with the band, Tosh said, “Oh, I think it’s an amazing opportunity. I mean they’re not from that generation, but their parents are … And they’ve heard a lot of the music because that band was really so popular, and their music is still quite a hit. So they’re super thrilled.”

Tosh said the choir program is in a growth stage, and they’re looking to build the program and invite more students to be a part of it.

“These types of opportunities are big drawers for kids of all kinds to be able to join choir. It’s such a great community to be a part of a choir,” Tosh said.

The concert is sold out and will be held Wednesday evening at the WVU Creative Arts Center.
