MMORGANTOWN — For many, the four-year mark of college means it’s time to move on, time to enter the real world and time for the next chapter.

Not for WVU President E. Gordon Gee.

“This is my last job, this one really is,” Gee said recently. “I want to be effective and I want to make a difference. When the time comes for me to move on, I will move into a more appropriate role for someone my age. But, I’m not going to move to take another job, I can assure you.”

So the man known across higher education for this horn-rimmed glasses and, of course, bow ties plans to lead the Mountaineers even after four years.

“It’s because I love the work, I really do. I’m a true believer in what we’re doing.”

Recently, Gee sat down with to discuss a host of topics from his first four years back at the university. He talked about students and faculty, Morgantown and the state, and his future as a Mountaineer.
