CLARKSBURG — Notre Dame could not miss from the 3-point line knocking down 16 shots from beyond the arc on 22 attempts against Trinity on Feb. 12. The Fighting Irish made their first nine three-point attempts and ended up getting the win, 54-44.

“They were making 3s no matter what defense we were in,” Trinity head coach Mike Baldy said. “We told the girls at halftime that there was no way they’d keep making shots like that, and then we came out and they still kept making them. I had never seen anything like it.”

Taylor Martino had seven makes from 3 and finished with 22 points, while Clare Cistaro added five from beyond the arc and had 15 points.

Reagan Sharp led the Warriors, with 20 points. She also had seven steals. Emily Saurborn had nine points and nine rebounds.

“I’m proud of the girls’ effort,” Baldy said. “We outscored them 15-2 in the fourth quarter and they still had their starters in. It wasn’t a mop-up effort and the girls’ didn’t quit.

Trinity (9-12) concluded its regular season and awaits its sectional pairing, which should be announced Feb. 13.
